About the RFP assessment
Paste an RFP, statement of work, requirements list, or a set of SOPs and Specforge reads it line by line against a corpus of requirements, architect-reviewed as it grows. Each statement comes back with a verdict — standard, config, or custom — plus the deliverables it implies and an indicative engagement scope. It is a second opinion on scope you can get before you commit budget, and it is independent: Specforge does not sell the software or the implementation.
How it works
- 1Paste or upload your documentFreeform is fine — a section, a paragraph, or a bullet list. PDF, Word, Excel, or plain text up to 8 MB; the text is pulled out for you to review before anything is analyzed.
- 2Review the matched requirementsEvery statement is matched to corpus requirements and classified standard (delivered out of the box), config (achievable through configuration or a released extension point), or custom (genuine development). Drop the ones that do not apply, and add related requirements from the same area that your document missed.
- 3See the deliverablesThe requirements you keep map to the documents a real programme produces — workshop material, functional specs, RICEFW inventories — laid out by phase.
- 4Request an engagementPick the phases you want scoped. No payment is taken here; the request goes to the delivery team, who confirm scope and commercials with you.
What you get
- A line-by-line fit/gap verdict on your own document, not a generic checklist
- Counts of what is standard versus what needs configuration or custom development — the numbers that move an estimate
- The requirements your document does not mention but the area usually needs
- The deliverables each requirement produces, phased, so you can see the shape of the work
Who it's for
Enterprise IT decision-makers and implementation programme leads evaluating scope before signing — CIOs and IT directors sanity-checking a vendor proposal, programme managers pressure-testing a statement of work, and procurement teams who need to know which requirements are genuinely custom before comparing bids.
Common questions
- Does my document need a particular format?
- No. The analysis is freeform — paste a section, a paragraph, or a bullet list. Uploads accept PDF, Word, Excel, and plain text up to 8 MB, and the extracted text is shown to you before it is analyzed.
- What do standard, config, and custom mean?
- Standard means the platform delivers the capability out of the box. Config means it is achievable through configuration or a released extension point, without modifying the core. Custom means genuine development — the requirements that carry the real cost and the real upgrade risk.
- Which platforms does this cover?
- Specforge is vendor-neutral across major enterprise platforms. The corpus is deepest on SAP S/4HANA today, including brownfield ECC-to-S/4HANA conversions, and the model is the same for other platforms as their coverage grows.
- Is this an estimate I can put in a business case?
- It is an indicative scope, not a quote. The value is the fit/gap breakdown underneath it — the standard-versus-custom split is what makes an estimate defensible or not, and it is the part vendors rarely show you.
- Can I start from a business process document?
- Yes. The BPD assessment reads a process document and returns its requirements, its gaps, a test case for each step and the scenarios that string them. It has its own page, linked below.
- What does it cost to try?
- Nothing. The assessment runs free, and requesting an engagement sends a scoping request rather than taking a payment.
